2008 NFL Playoffs: Divisonal Round Picks *Playoffs!?*

Seattle @ Greenbay - My one upset since there's no fucking way were getting 2 1 vs 2 matchups in the championship.

    Jacksonville @ New England

    San Diego @ Indianapolis

    New York Giants @ Dallas

    The wtfhuge spreads...

Seattle @ Greenbay - I love me some favre

Jacksonville @ New England - This is going to be a really physical game and it will be close, but NE will win because of their experience and its in Foxboro

San Diego @ Indianapolis - San Diego looks horrible, especially without gates

New York Giants @ Dallas - Giants have looked pretty sharp the last few weeks, I see them continuing this and pulling a huge upset here. The cowboys are playing their worst football of the year right now as well.

Call me crazy, but I too think the Giants will win over the Cowboys.

Those spreads seem awfully large to me. Well, maybe not the NE-Jax spread, but the rest of them do. Just like Vegas was asking for people to bet on the Redskins last week, looks like they are asking people to bet on the Seahawks and Giants, in particular. I hate it when Vegas wants people to bet on my team, it's very discouraging.

If there is ever a year that all four top seeds go to the conference championships, this is it. I'll pick the straight chalk, but in the order of road teams most likely to pull an upset: Giants > Seahawks > Chargers > Jaguars. Which is, ironically, the exact opposite of my opinion of the quality of those four teams.

Seattle @ Greenbay - I'd like Seattle to win but its not going to happen.

Jacksonville @ New England - Pats going to win by a fair amount I'm guessing.

    San Diego @ Indianapolis -

New York Giants @ Dallas - This one is hard for me to pick, I think its going to be really close. As much as I want Dallas to win I think they will lose this one.

Definitely putting my bet on the Giants as well.
Manning played very well against Tampa's NFL best pass defense.
If he can keep his passing up as well as the rest of the team, then the Giants should cruise by Dallas.

    Agreed!

I do think all the higher ranked teams will win, tho.

I think the colts have the least chance for an upset. Last game, the chargers got 2 special teams TDs, and manning threw like 6 INTs or something (yeah, that'll happen again). They still only lost by what, 2, on a fluke missed FG by vinnie. The colts will fucking destroy the chargers in a way that will make us all cringe. Then there's Gates (or lack there of). Id say greatest chance for upset goes: Giants > Seahawks > Jags > chargers. The latter 2 just aren't happening. I'll go ahead and schedule the superbowl party for the sunday after next during the AFC championship.

I think the only team Dallas is going to lose to this playoff year is the Colts or the Pats. I don't see why everyone is picking the Giants over cowboys. The cowboys beat them both games this year even when Eli was playing very well. They're also going to be well rested. I just don't see a loss vs NY.

58 times have two teams played each other three times in a season and in only 11 of those sets did one team win all three games. Something to think about as the Giants (whose only road loss came to the Cowboys who were also the only team they played on the road with a record better than .500) go into Dallas.

I definitely agree that the Giants are the most likely upset, on paper at least.

However, I can see the Jags giving the pats a seriously hard time-- they run the ball like nobody's business, and it's not like they're doing it just to hold the clock and preserve a 10-6 win or something, they're running roughshod over people and putting up 30 points a game, which seems to me like exactly what it would take to beat the pats.

I haven't come out and said I think the pats are going to lose all year, but I'm going to go ahead and give my "official" prediction now.

Jags beat Pats, Super Bowl ends up Green Bay vs Indy and Favre goes out a hero with a 400 yard MVP performance in a shootout.

That's what I love about this year - there are so many good possible endings to the year. The patriots (my team) complete a perfect season and go 19-0. Favre ends his career on top. The jags climb the ranks and beat the best to be the best. Tony Romo Dies in an unfortunate elephant trample. Eli shuts up the haters and becomes a star. Peyton out-duels his brother in an epic older brother domination.

    I love the nfl playoffs ;;

Wow. Huge spreads are huge. Anyway..

Seattle @ Green Bay - Seattle isn't as good as the 35-14 score made it seem.

Jacksonville @ New England - Yep. I'm going there. Who wants some? (Probably won't happen, but meh.)

San Diego @ Indianapolis - No way Manning throws 5 or 6 picks..however the fuck many he threw the first game. I can't remember. He's looking for revenge.

New York Giants @ Dallas - I think Tony Homo might play a bit better and could possibly rip apart the Giants weak secondary.

You hit every possibility right on the head, I especially like the Tony Romo part tbh.
